Whether you prefer a leisurely ride on cosy alpine and forest trails or thrills on steep descents and challenging trails up to 2000 m above sea level - if you want to explore Meranerland by bike, you've come to the right place. It starts right on the doorstep of our feel-good Hotel Falzeben: you have the choice of taking the cable car up to the mountain station of the Merano 2000 cable car or pedalling off right away with sweaty legs.
The surrounding area offers a varied network of trails that leaves nothing to be desired for your MTB adventure in Merano and Environs. Bike guide Markus from the Hafling Tourist Association also invites you to join his guided e-bike tour over the Tschögglberg once a week. We are happy to lend you mountain bikes for adults and children as well as e-bikes (for a fee). If you have your own bike with you, you can store it in our lockable bike cellar.
The circular tour starts in the charming village of Hafling and takes you across the breathtaking high plateau, which opens up with cosy places to stop for refreshments and magnificent panoramic views. The route continues on not too steep paths to the Leadneralm and on to the Vöraner Alm on well-maintained forest paths.
Continue along the narrow Haflinger Höhenweg to the Auener Joch, where technically experienced bikers - or those who are prepared to put up with short stretches of pushing - can enjoy a steep ascent to the Kreuzjoch. From here, a marvellous panoramic ride to the Kreuzjöchl awaits you. The view of the Ifinger and Platten peaks unfolding across the wide plateaus is a real treat.
The ride then continues to the Meranerhütte hut on Merano 2000 and finally along a forest track to Falzeben. Have fun!
